Try something heavenly for Valentine’s Day weekend at the historic Seminole Theatre,

with a concert by country, blues, roots-rock performer Paul Thorn on February 12th, 2016 and a Wine & Chocolate Pairing on February 14th, 2016.

“The Seminole Theatre is hosting many exciting events in February. We welcome Paul Thorn to the Seminole Showcase Series, joining other renowned artists, including Jon Secada, The Wailers and The Drifters, to come to Homestead during our inaugural season. Plus we’ll have a delectable Wine & Chocolate Pairing sure to delight even the most discerning palates,” said Seminole Theatre Executive Director Mickey McGuire.

Raised in Tupelo, Mississippi like the King of Rock & Roll Elvis Presley, Americana artist Paul Thorn distinguished himself early on in his career with a live-performance energy that has enraptured audiences with his roots-rock music. Thorn’s latest album Too Blessed To Be Stressed, which he describes as a collection of "positive anthem songs”, stakes out new territory for the popular songwriter and performer. Opening for Thorn is Jennings and Keller, a Miami-based acoustic duo known for ‘Fusion Folk Americana’—a blend of many different elements that comes from the duo’s vast and wide-ranging musical backgrounds, from the Broadway musicals of New York to the honky tonks of West Texas. With the release of their debut CD, Susan’s House (2007) Jennings and Keller quickly gained recognition as well as several songwriting awards throughout the country.

At the Valentine’s Day Wine & Chocolate Pairing, attendees will learn to expertly combine sensational wines with unique chocolate during the one-hour class. Participants will try five wines paired with five distinct chocolates. Event entry is $25 per person and includes the class, wine and chocolate during the class. Tickets may be purchased online (processing fees apply to online orders) or at the Seminole Theatre Box Office or by calling 786-650-2073. After the event, participants can remain onsite and enjoy a romantic evening on the Seminole Theatre terrace. Wine and chocolate will be available from Southern Hospitality Catering.

If you can't pick - no need!  Valentine's Day weekend packages are available to take care of your weekend.  A couples' package includes two orchestra tickets to see Paul Thorn, and two entries for the Wine & Chocolate pairing.  Packages for a couple are just $100 (or $50 for individual packages).  Packages are available at the box office at 18 N Krome Ave or by calling 786-650-2073.

Our History

The Theatre originally opened on November 26, 1921 as a cinema, primarily showing the then popular silent movies. The Seminole Theatre quickly became the place to go for entertainment and social gatherings in South Dade County and the upper Keys.
