Cast

Hairspray is a diverse show set in inner city Baltimore in the 1960s.  Actors of all ages, race and body type are encouraged to audition.  Due to the nature of the show, some roles are specific to certain ethnicities and to respect the nature of the play, we will make best attempts to cast as such.  For a full breakdown of roles click HERE.

Audition Guidelines
For Tuesday's open call, please prepare 16 measures of an upbeat song or ballad in your key. Choose a piece that you are comfortable with and one that shows off your strength. *SHEET MUSIC IS REQUIRED* - CD's or acapella would NOT be permitted.  First time picking an audition song?  Read this helpful article. and feel free to contact us if you need help with sheet music - we've got lots of it!

If you're more comfortable singing Karaoke - come to Wednesday's open call at Lucky's Saloon, just down the street from the Seminole.  No sheet music is required, just bring yourself, your friends, and maybe pick up some liquid courage at the bar.

Dancers should be prepared to learn a routine. Everyone wear comfortable clothing and dance shoes.
