Cuban Classical Ballet of Miami (CCBM) artistic director Eriberto Jimenez in conjunction with St. Lucie Ballet will present an exciting and rich mix of grand Russian and new Hispanic influenced choreographies.

“Jewels of the Russian Ballet” highlights famous pieces from the renowned Russian Ballet Russe repertoire including: “Scheherazade”, based on tales of ‘One Thousand and One Nights’; the Odalisque’s pas de trois from “Le Corsaire”, and “Awakening of Flora” the Greek myth of the Goddess of Spring.

Original works include “Yerma”, inspired by a tragic poem by Federico García Lorca to the famous Rodrigo guitar concerto, “Habaneras” music by famed Cuban composer Cervantes, a celebration to Cuban women, la Habanera reaches all artistic expressions from intimacy to higher and romantic states of mind and “Lecuona Suite” a tribute to Cuban composer Ernesto Lecuona and his musical legacy.

Our History

The Theatre originally opened on November 26, 1921 as a cinema, primarily showing the then popular silent movies. The Seminole Theatre quickly became the place to go for entertainment and social gatherings in South Dade County and the upper Keys.
