Community Dance Classes return to the Seminle Theatre due to popular demand!  This next session features a return of Helen Alspaugh for Line Dance, and features an all-new fun & fit Belly Dance Class.  Classes run every Thursday for 5 weeks, starting Thursday, March 21.  Sign up as a single, a couple or as a group of friends.  At just $10 a class, you can't find a better deal than this.  All you need to bring is a pair of comfortable shoes and a fun attitude.

5 Week Belly Dance Class

In this course, we will break down foundation movements making them easy to learn for new students, while enjoying beautiful music! A fun way to get a low-impact workout using muscles you didn't know you had! Learn the graceful and beautiful ancient Middle Eastern art of belly dancing.

Elviza is a professional performer of Middle Eastern belly dance. She has been featured in many events such as the SMDCAC Grand Opening, City of Homestead Halloween, Dragon Boat Festival, HealthSouth Annual Fair and Miami Festivals & Events Convention as well as having danced on the Seminole Theatre stage with the band 3RG. She produced her own annual holiday event called Skeleton Dance/Dia De Los Muertos Bailando and was the house dancer at UVA Restaurant for many years. She provides a detailed breakdown of the classic belly dance movements to make it easy and fun to learn!

5 Week Line Dance Class

Classes run for 5 straight weeks Thursdays 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm in the Seminole Theatre studios.  Class begins March 21st and ends April 18th.

The Next Step line dance class will be at an intermediate level. Every week you will receive links to the dances you've learned so you can practice at home. Challenge yourself- you can do it!

Helen Alspaugh (Just Helen) has been line dancing with a passion for 4 years! That’s what happens when you dance 3-4 times a week and go to Line Dance events out of town. She attends 2 classes herself and teaches one other as well as dancing for fun on Friday or Saturday nights. Teaching comes naturally as she shares her joy in learning new steps and new dances.

At The Theatre

Our History

The Theatre originally opened on November 26, 1921 as a cinema, primarily showing the then popular silent movies. The Seminole Theatre quickly became the place to go for entertainment and social gatherings in South Dade County and the upper Keys.
