Want to help out with this year's production of A Christmas Carol?  The Seminole Theatre Players are still searching for volunteers to help as designers, stage crew and set builders/painters.  

The Seminole Theatre Players are seeking designers for the holiday production of A Christmas Carol, running Dec 21-30, 2018 at the Seminole Theatre in Homestead, FL.

Participating in theater is fun and fulfilling.  The Seminole Theatre Players is a volunteer organization committed to producing great shows for and by our community.  But we need YOUR help!  Come join our team and our family.  Whether you are an experienced veteran of theater or looking to start, we have a variety of roles that we need help with.  

We are seeking the following positions:

Lighting Designer – Design and help program the lighting for the production. Must be available for tech week Dec 16-21.

Sound Designer - Design and help program the music, sound effects, and sound balance for the production.

Costume Designer – Design the costume plot and work with team to source costumes through renting, purchasing or fabricating. Much of this work can be done independently to source costumes prior to tech week. Some tech week availability is expected.

Props Master – Source or build the props, furniture and other elements of the productions. Much of this work can be done independently to source costumes prior to tech week. Some tech week availability is expected.

Hair & Makeup Designer – Design and help implement the hair & makeup design of the production, in conjunction with actors and Costume Designer. Ideally available for tech week and the run of the show to help actors.

Paint Charge - Under the supervision of the scenic designer / production manager, is responsible for the painting of the scenery. Much of this can be done on independent time prior to tech week.

Assistant Stage Manager - Help organize actors and scene changes during rehearsals and performances.  Must be available all of tech week Dec 16-21 and for all performances and come to performances.

Also seeking help with the following positions:

Stage Hands, Child Wrangler, Followspot Operators, Carpenters, Painters, Stitchers, etc.

Our History

The Theatre originally opened on November 26, 1921 as a cinema, primarily showing the then popular silent movies. The Seminole Theatre quickly became the place to go for entertainment and social gatherings in South Dade County and the upper Keys.
